Update:<\/b> Both “The Voice” and “The X Factor” suffered as a result of their rare head-to-head battle Tuesday. But when push came to shove, NBC’s “The Voice” was the clear winner.<\/p>\n

“The Voice” averaged a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating and 11.41 million viewers from 9-11PM, while “The X Factor” could only muster a 1.5 and 4.76 million viewers from 8-10PM.<\/p>\n

In their overlapping 9PM hour, “The Voice” posted a 3.6 and 11.36 million viewers while “Factor” managed a 1.4 and 4.43 million.<\/em>

Note to FOX: Even one hour of head-to-head competition between “The X Factor and “The Voice” is one too many.<\/p>\n

According to TV Media Insights, NBC’s flagship obliterated FOX’s “Factor” in the Tuesday ratings race. With its 7.1 overnight metered market rating, “The Voice,” which aired from 9-11PM, almost doubled the 3.7 overnight rating for “X Factor,” which aired from 8-10:05PM.<\/p>\n

And in their overlapping 9-10PM hour, “The Voice” more than doubled the FOX show’s comparable number. It matched its 7.1 rating, while “Factor” could only muster a 3.5.<\/p>\n

The 3.7 overnight number for “The X Factor” represents a decisive low point for a season that had already been very disappointing. As a point of comparison, the last two-hour “X Factor” original, which aired on 10\/9, delivered a 5.3 metered market number.<\/p>\n

In fairness, its positioning against “The X Factor” also had an adverse effect on “The Voice.” While the show only averaged a 7.1 from 9-10PM this week, last week’s hourlong telecast in the slot drew an 8.2.<\/p>\n

Still, when one show delivers a 7.1 overnight number and the other a 3.5 in the head-to-head slot, it is pretty clear which won the battle.
