Realistically, with the ratings it has been delivering this season, it is hard to believe FOX is not deeply regretting its decision to even book that sixth season, which will air in 2014-15 as the second half of the show’s two-year renewal.<\/p>\n
But in case there were any doubt to those notions, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy cemented the irrelevance this week. The writer\/producer\/showrunner, who also leads FX’s “American Horror Story,” confirmed that “Glee” will not have a seventh season.<\/p>\n
Originally designed to focus on the endgame for Lea Michele’s Rachel and Cory Monteith’s Finn, the sixth and final season will now build to a “satisfactory” conclusion that is “kind of in his honor.”<\/p>\n
\u201cThe final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory\/Finn\u2019s story,\u201d said Murphy. \u201cI always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was \u2013 he was in it. I knew what the last line was \u2013 she said it to him.”<\/p>\n
Given Monteith’s tragic, unexpected passing this summer, that plan was obviously nixed.<\/p>\n
