{"id":19491,"date":"2013-09-11T23:55:49","date_gmt":"2013-09-12T03:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/headlineplanet.com\/home\/?p=19491"},"modified":"2013-09-11T23:57:31","modified_gmt":"2013-09-12T03:57:31","slug":"bj-penn-returns-to-ufc-confirmed-as-ultimate-fighter-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/headlineplanet.com\/home\/2013\/09\/11\/bj-penn-returns-to-ufc-confirmed-as-ultimate-fighter-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"BJ Penn Returns to UFC, Confirmed as &#8220;Ultimate Fighter&#8221; Coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Even though the current season of &#8220;The Ultimate Fighter&#8221; just got underway, leading mixed martial arts promotion UFC is already hyping the next cycle.<\/p>\n<p>UFC President Dana White confirmed Wednesday that Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn will serve as coaches of the next season&#8211;the show&#8217;s nineteenth&#8211;before fighting at featherweight next spring.<\/p>\n<p>Edgar, who is coming off a featherweight win over Charles Oliveira, defeated Penn in back-to-back 2010 lightweight championship fights.<\/p>\n<p>Since losing his belt to Edgar, Penn scored a knockout win over Matt Hughes, fought Jon Fitch to a draw and then lost back-to-back contests to Nick Diaz and Rory MacDonald.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to confirming the Edgar vs. Penn rematch, UFC was looking into booking Edgar and Urijah Faber as opposing coaches.
