News of John Cena’s arm injury was no secret. Even if one had not read reports of Cena’s plans to undergo surgery after Summerslam<\/a>, it took but once glance at his exceedingly swollen elbow to know things were not all rosy.<\/p>\n

Following WWE Summerslam, at which Cena lost a Championship match to Daniel Bryan (who ultimately lost his belt to MITB winner Randy Orton), WWE’s most popular Superstar announced plans to embark on a hiatus as he deals with his injury.<\/p>\n

Attributing the issue to a torn triceps, Cena acknowledged on WWE RAW that he will be miss ring time to undergo surgery.<\/p>\n

“John has been dealing with a large left elbow bursitis,\u201d said WWE’s Dr. Michael Sampson. “We did an MRI which showed a partial triceps tear. Being the warrior that he is, he did not want to have surgery [forcing him to cancel his SummerSlam match].\u201d<\/p>\n
