In outperforming initial expectations, “Blurred Lines” delivered a career-best sales week for R&B artist Robin Thicke.<\/p>\n
Building off the momentum from its red-hot title single, “Lines” moved 177,000 copies in its first week. Significantly ahead of 137,000, the previous high mark Thicke set with “Something else,” it also gives Thicke his first number one on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
Trailing “Blurred Lines” was Five Finger Death Punch’s “The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell: Volume 1.” With 112,000 first-week sales, a career best total for the act, the album lands at number two on the Billboard album sales chart.<\/p>\n
Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta … Holy Grail” claimed third, which left fourth for Tech N9ne’s new “Something Else” (58,000) and fifth for the Backstreet Boys’ “In a World Like This” (48,000).<\/p>\n
Though BSB won the weekly boy band race, it did so by a very slim margin.
