With cable networks continuing to up their game and Netflix bringing another viewing platform into the mix, the 2013 Emmy nominations were as anticipated–and contentious–as ever.<\/p>\n

Increasingly-accessible and increasingly-accommodating of diverse audiences, today’s television programming serves to divide fans into an endless assortment of buckets.\u00a0 Each is as passionate about their favorite shows and actors as the next, and insofar as many cannot be compared on an apples-to-apples basis, the task of narrowing the field to small groups of nominees is immensely challenging and certain to produce some incredibly unpopular results.<\/p>\n

But the nominating body accepted that task, and it revealed its final list of 2013 Emmy Nominees Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
