Three weeks into its second season, MTV’s “Catfish” is making it abundantly clear that interest levels reached a peak in season one.<\/p>\n

The show did, nonetheless, show some life this Tuesday, rising from last week’s series-low 1.0 adults 18-49 rating to a 1.2 with 2.16 million viewers.<\/p>\n

Down from what it would typically draw in its season one timeslot (Mondays at 11PM), the episode’s demo rating nonetheless ranked as the best for an original cable broadcast Tuesday. Only two TBS re-runs of “The Big Bang Theory” and two Adult Swim rebroadcasts of “Family Guy” performed better.<\/p>\n

Tuesday’s episode, one of the most compelling to date, revealed that Ramon, the victim of the “Catfishing,” was also guilty of misleading hosts Nev and Max. Though his interest in Paola (an identity created by perpetrator Loyda), was initially peaked by a phony profile containing photos of the stunning Paola Provost<\/a>, it was revealed throughout the episode that Loyda, in multiple attempts to come clean, had revealed her true appearance in video chats.<\/p>\n

Since Ramon seemed so devastated when he saw the true Loyda, she would disingenuously backtrack, noting that she was using video of a less attractive woman to determine if he was interested in “Paola” for her personality or for her looks.<\/p>\n

But despite her attempts to come clean, Loyda was far from a well-intentioned, well-adjusted individual.
