{"id":18239,"date":"2013-05-31T06:01:52","date_gmt":"2013-05-31T06:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/headlineplanet.com\/home\/?p=18239"},"modified":"2013-05-31T06:02:08","modified_gmt":"2013-05-31T06:02:08","slug":"nicki-minaj-mariah-carey-confirm-american-idol-departures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/headlineplanet.com\/home\/2013\/05\/31\/nicki-minaj-mariah-carey-confirm-american-idol-departures\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey Confirm &#8220;American Idol&#8221; Departures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plans to completely overhaul the &#8220;American Idol&#8221; judging panel&#8211;and perhaps turn to an all-alumni group next year&#8211;are as well-documented as news of the show&#8217;s ratings downfall.<\/p>\n<p>Yet season 12 judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey still opted to confirm their departures Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Since the FOX reality series was not expected to bring Minaj and Carey back next season, the notion that they are &#8220;exiting&#8221; seems disingenuous.
