Ring of Honor Champion Jay Briscoe came under fire this week for comments he made in reference to gay marriage legislation.<\/p>\n
“The Delaware Senate passed a bill yesterday that allows same sex couples to get married. If that makes you happy, then congratulations…try and teach my kids that there’s nothing wrong with that and I’ll f**ing shoot you,” wrote Briscoe, according to correspondents who saw his Twitter prior to its deletion.<\/p>\n
Prior to deleting the account, Briscoe allegedly apologized for his choice of words but still defended the idea that sentiment on the issue should come from within one’s own family.<\/p>\n
Ring of Honor issued an official statement on the matter, distancing itself from Briscoe’s views on the widely-discussed subject.<\/p>\n
“Ring of Honor Wrestling respects and appreciates every fan regardless of age, gender, race, religion or sexual preference.
