Save for select episodes, ratings for the second season of TNT’s “Dallas” revival did not light the world on fire, but the network remains committed to the series.<\/p>\n
The cable announced Tuesday that the series will return for a 15-episode third season in early 2014.<\/p>\n
Premiering season three in early 2014 is a particular sign of confidence, as it means TNT was undeterred by the show’s softer performance in the more-competitive winter months.<\/p>\n
“Dallas has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R.
