That record stands at 3.48 million first-week US sales; Hits Daily Double says Swift’s new album is a lock to surpass 3.5 million in first-week US activity and could challenge for 4 million.<\/p>\n
Released in November 2015, “25” generated all but about 100K activity from pure album sales. “Showgirl” will receive a much bigger lift, but it could challenge the 3.38 million pure sales mark achieved by “25.” After all, Billboard notes that the album had sold 2.7 million in pure copies by the end of its first day.<\/p>\n
