If “American Idol” had not faded so notably from the forefront of pop culture, Lazaro Arbos’ run on “American Idol” would be as controversial as that of Sanjaya Malakar.<\/p>\n

Though likable, Arbos has repeatedly struggled to stay on pitch and remember his lyrics. But despite that reputation–evidenced by a string of critically-panned performances and no beloved ones–Arbos has consistently avoided elimination.<\/p>\n

And after tonight, he is the last man standing on “American Idol.”<\/p>\n

Voters booted Burnell Taylor this week, leaving Arbos and all five female finalists–Janelle Arthur, Angie Miller, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover and Amber Holcomb–still in the mix.<\/p>\n
