Ben Affleck’s acclaimed directorial work did not even earn him a nomination for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, but it was enough to bring him to the stage for a Golden Globe.<\/p>\n
Kathryn Bigelow (“Zero Dark Thirty”) and Quentin Tarantino (“Django Unchained”), also surprise snubs in the Oscar race, joined Steven Spielberg (“Lincoln”) and Ang Lee (“Life of Pi”) in nomination for that honor.<\/p>\n
But Affleck’s celebration was not limited to direction; the film in which he starred also won for Best Picture, Drama. It beat out Zero Dark Thirty, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Django Unchained to secure victory.<\/p>\n
