Thursday’s ratings for FOX’s “The X Factor” prove that last week’s low ratings were not exclusively the result of competition from the CMA Awards.<\/p>\n
“Factor” stayed in very low territory this week, delivering just a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating and 6.3 million viewers for its results show.<\/p>\n
The series has already been confirmed for a third season, but no one associated with the show can be happy about how quickly its numbers have fallen following the beginning of the competition portion.<\/p>\n
Though “X Factor” dealt with a special episode of “The Voice” this week, the NBC series delivered a lower-rating than last week’s CMAs. And given that “X Factor” delivered a far stronger number earlier in the season when it went against a far stronger episode of “The Voice,” it is hard to blame that too aggressively for this week’s number.<\/p>\n
“Glee,” which returned to the lineup this week, followed with a 2.4 rating and 5.73 million viewers. Though down slightly from its prior episode, “Glee” held steadier than its lead-in did–and, in fact, beat out its companion series this week.<\/p>\n
On the negative side, with “The Office” up to a season high 2.5 rating, “Glee” currently ranks in fourth place for the timeslot (also behind “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Person of Interest”).
