Though the adults 18-49 rating for its premiere was decent numerically, there was some concern about its retention out of last week’s “Modern Family” lead-in.<\/p>\n
If it was unable to set the world on fire with support from “Modern” and curiosity buzz for its premiere, how would it fare in the coming weeks with the lower-rated “Suburgatory” as lead-in?<\/p>\n
Not as well was the prediction, and not as well as the reality.<\/p>\n
Episode two dipped to a disappointing 2.0 adults 18-49 rating with 6.75 million viewers. The episode also lost viewers thoughout the hour, delivering a 2.2 and 7.10 million from 10-10:30 and a 1.9 and 6.39 from 10:30-11.<\/p>\n
It still managed to beat fellow newcomer “Chicago Fire” in the demo, although it has already forfeited its timeslot championship to veteran “CSI.”<\/p>\n
Earlier in the night, ABC’s “The Middle” posted a 2.5 with 8.34 million viewers. “The Neighbors” dipped to a 1.9 with 6.50 million, but “Modern Family” perked things up with a strong 4.6 and 12.14 million for yet another strong fourth season episode.<\/p>\n
