Fred Durst’s run atop the music world has long since passed, but he has spent much of Monday at the focal point of pro wrestling discussions.<\/p>\n
Amid speculation about whether the Limp Bizkit frontman was kicked out of WWE Summerslam for giving the finger on camera, a WWE representative confirmed the truth to TMZ: he was not asked to leave.<\/p>\n
Though WWE was upset with Durst delivering the gesture on a broadcast built for a PG audience, it did not forcibly kick the performer out of the show. Rather, Durst, upset with what he did, immediately rushed to the backstage area to apologize for his action. He left shortly after, which explains why correspondents did not see him at ringside for the main-event.<\/p>\n
According to WWE’s spokesperson, “We appreciate Fred\u2019s apology. However, we take our family-friendly environment very seriously and this was a violation of that. We sincerely apologize to our fans.”<\/p>\n
Shortly after speculation hit the web, Durst claimed on Twitter that he left the show early in order to beat traffic.
