Set to embark on its fourth week atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, “Call Me Maybe” now claims more weeks in the top spot than any single ever released by an “Idol” contestant. Kelly Clarkson had previously possessed the record with recent hit “Stronger.” That song locked down number one for three weeks.<\/p>\n
Still the dominant single in America, “Call Me Maybe” faced a bit of bad news in slipping to number two on the Hot 100 Airplay and On Demand charts (behind Maroon 5 & Wiz Khalifa’s “Payphone”), but it was still a big week for Jepsen.
