FOX formally announced its 2012-13 schedule Monday, confirming rumors that “Glee” is moving to a new night.<\/p>\n

After two seasons of anchoring Tuesdays, “Glee” will return to its season one roots of pairing with a music competition series. Beginning this fall, it will move to Thursdays at 9PM, where it will lead out of the hourlong “The X Factor” results shows.<\/p>\n

At midseason, that lead-in will be replaced by the “American Idol” results show.<\/p>\n

Assuming “The X Factor” does not completely tank in year two, and reason suggests that casting Britney Spears as a judge will at least attract viewers for the early episodes, “Glee” should definitely receive a welcome lead-in in its new timeslot. On the other hand, it will also go head-to-head with adults 18-49 mainstay “Grey’s Anatomy” (although for much of this past season, Tuesday night competitor “NCIS” was doing equally well, if not better, in the demo).<\/p>\n

The “Glee” move opens up Tuesdays for a two-hour sitcom block. Even though it did not work out well this year, and in fact seemed to slow the momentum of “New Girl,” which at one point was considered a breakout hit, FOX is sticking with that Tuesday lineup in the hope that any decline in nightly ratings will be more than offset by the stronger Thursday night setup.<\/p>\n

“Touch,” meanwhile, relocates to Friday nights, where it will serve as a lead-in to “Fringe.”<\/p>\n

Embedded in FOX’s fall schedule are some new shows, including “The Mob Doctor,” “Ben & Kate” and “The Mindy Project.” Pickups “The Following” and “The Goodwin Games” will join at midseason.<\/p>\n

The team considers Hardy to be more of a liability than an asset. But Hardy proves his worth when he uncovers that Carroll was covertly communicating with a network of killers in the outside world.
