Airing remotely, in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, and in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of BET, Sunday’s 2020 BET Awards ceremony was far from a typical awards show.<\/p>\n
It did, nonetheless, include the two fundamental elements of a music awards ceremony: stellar performances and trophy reveals.<\/p>\n
The performer list included names like Nas, Kane Brown, Megan Thee Stallion, Chloe X Halle, Summer Walker, DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, Alicia Keys, Usher, and more.<\/p>\n
The six major artist awards, meanwhile, went to Chris Brown (Male R&B\/Pop), Lizzo (Female R&B\/Pop), Migos (Group), DaBaby (Male Hip-Hop), Megan Thee Stallion (Female Hip-Hop), Roddy Ricch (New Artist). Burna Boy and Sha Sha also won artist trophies, in their case for International Act and New International Act, respectively.<\/p>\n
