There is simply no denying it–CBS’ Monday night comedy lineup is red-hot.<\/p>\n
All four shows were again up Monday, with flagship “Two and a Half Men” delivering another gain and “2 Broke Girls” rising to a timeslot high.<\/p>\n
Loud online commenters like to rip the quality of the revamped “Two and a Half Men,” which features Ashton Kutcher in the lead role, but the overall audience seems content with where the show is right now. Building on last week’s “Alan becomes Charlie” episode, “Men” scored a healthy 5.3 adults 18-49 rating and 14.6 million viewers.<\/p>\n
At this rate, even if “Men” suddenly alienates a chunk of the viewers who have been content to stick with the show, there is virtually no chance it will fall to levels that warrant concern. It is thus hard to label the decision to replace Charlie Sheen with Ashton Kutcher as anything but a success.<\/p>\n
“Girls,” meanwhile, rose to an extremely-impressive 4.8 and 11.7 million viewers, building on an already-dominant performance from veteran lead-in “How I Met Your Mother” (4.5 and 10.4 million viewers).<\/p>\n
