The fast national results are starting to circulate, and it appears ABC’s Emmy-winning “Modern Family” crushed “The X Factor” in head-to-head competition Wednesday.<\/p>\n

“Modern Family” rose to a series high 6.0 adults 18-49 rating with 14.3 million viewers for its hour-long season premiere. “X Factor,” meanwhile, could only muster a 4.2 rating for its two-hour premiere–a disaster in comparison to its lofty expectations.<\/p>\n

Total viewership for “Factor” came in at 12.1 million viewers, less than half of the total for last season’s “American Idol” premiere.<\/p>\n
