Neither proved right–FOX’s freshman comedy “New Girl” debuted in force, chalking up a convincing win in the coveted young adult demo.<\/p>\n
The Zooey Deschanel vehicle garnered an impressive 4.7 adults 18-49 rating with 10.1 million viewers, marking a sizable increase<\/em> from its “Glee” lead-in (a lukewarm 3.8 with 8.9 million). It also drove “Raising Hope” to its best numbers in a long time–a 3.1 rating with 6.9 million viewers.<\/p>\n Over on ABC, night two of “Dancing with the Stars” showed the same signs of weakness in the current cycle.
