After two weeks in the pinnacle position, it seems clear that Drake’s “Nonstop” will cede its urban radio throne this week.<\/p>\n
Far less clear: which song will takeover #1 on Mediabase’s urban airplay chart. Ella Mai’s “Trip” and Travi$ Scott’s “SICKO MODE” both have a shot at the top spot.<\/p>\n
As of press time, Ella Mai’s “Trip” has a slight lead. The “Boo’d Up” follow-up received 1,503 spins during the first two days of the October 21-27 tracking period, which gives it the #1 position Mediabase’s building\/real-time chart.<\/p>\n
“SICKO MODE” is #2 on the building chart with 1,488 spins.<\/p>\n
The Travi$ Scott song, however, has a momentum advantage. Whereas its count is up 15.3% from the same-time-last-week mark, “Trip” is up 6.2%. If they remain on those rough trajectories, “SICKO MODE” will pull ahead by the end of the week.<\/p>\n
There is, of course, no guarantee they will<\/i> remain on those trajectories. As such, the #1 spot is still up for grabs.<\/p>\n
