Billboard credits “East Atlanta Love Letter” with 77K first-week units, which is similar to the 76K reported by Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle earlier this week.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, they report a substantially different pure sales total. Hits said the album sold 27K pure copies, while Billboard lists the number at 20K. Billboard, accordingly, credits “East Atlanta Love Letter” with a markedly greater number of streaming units.

According to Hits Daily Double and Buzz Angle, the album sold about 27K pure US copies during the September 14-20 tracking period. With units from track sales and track streams included, “East Atlanta Love Letter” generated about 76K in total first-week consumption.<\/p>\n
Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly from that reported by Hits. The Hits data does, however, provide a good indication of where “East Atlanta Love Letter” should land on the charts.<\/p>\n
The pure sales figure should be enough for a Top 5 position on the Top Album Sales (pure sales) chart. The consumption figure should be enough for a Top 5 (and likely Top 3) position on the Billboard 200; only Carrie Underwood’s “Cry Pretty” and Eminem’s “Kamikaze” appear to have clearly generated more consumption units.<\/p>\n
