This week’s US album race ends in a split-chart scenario.<\/p>\n
The soundtrack to “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” boasts the best pure sales total, but Drake’s “Scorpion” resoundingly leads in overall consumption.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle, “Here We Go Again” sold about 34K pure US copies this week. The count convincingly ranks as the week’s best sales tally.<\/p>\n
Drake’s album, however, received a far bigger lift from TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1250 for paid services, track streams\/3750 for free services). While it only sold about 14K pure copies this week, it generated about 181K in overall consumption.<\/p>\n
“Here We Go Again” generated only about 46K in overall consumption. Well-short of the “Scorpion” figure, the consumption tally also trails that posted by Post Malone’s “Beerbongs & Bentleys” (~64K).<\/p>\n
Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly from that reported by Hits. The discrepancies should not, however, affect the top of this week’s charts. “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” should claim #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales (pure sales), while “Scorpion” should resoundingly lead the Billboard 200 (total consumption).<\/p>\n
“Scorpion” will be celebrating a fourth week atop the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
