Early projections have emerged for Drake’s “Scorpion” album, and they confirm the obvious: it will be a dominant #1 on this week’s album charts.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double, “Scorpion” is on track to sell 275-300,000 pure US copies this week. With TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1250 for paid services, track streams\/3750 for free services) included, the album should generate 870-920,000 in opening week consumption.<\/p>\n

The pure sales total will earn “Scorpion” #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, while the consumption tally will be enough for a dominant #1 on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
The consumption total will, moreover, rank as the biggest of 2018 by a considerable margin.<\/p>\n
Assuming that projection holds, “Scorpion” will deliver either the #1 or #2 pure sales tally of 2018. Dave Matthews Band’s “Come Tomorrow” currently holds the #1 distinction with 285,000 in first-week sales.<\/p>\n
In terms of studio albums, “Scorpion” is the follow-up to 2016’s “Views.” That album sold 852,000 pure copies and generated 1.04 million total units in its first week.<\/p>\n
In between the two, Drake released the “More Life” mixtape.
