Deadline reported Wednesday that CBS’ “Two and a Half Men” came within striking distance of landing Hugh Grant as its replacement for fired star Charlie Sheen.<\/p>\n
Still intending to move forward with a new, high-profile actor at the forefront, “Men” producers reportedly offered Grant $1 million per episode to come aboard the high-rated CBS sitcom. Grant was very warm to the offer but ultimately pulled out due to creative differences, the report says.<\/p>\n
Hoping to erase doubt about the show’s ability to function without Sheen, CBS has reportedly urged Chuck Lorre and company to go after a high-level actor who would be fairly new to television.
