Last week’s “The Walking Dead” aired on Easter Sunday — and opposite competition from “Jesus Christ Superstar: Live.”<\/p>\n

While this week’s episode did not face either factor, it did air against the demographically relevant (though limited in potential reach) WWE Network presentation of WrestleMania.<\/p>\n

It still posted week-over-week ratings gains.<\/p>\n

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “TWD” drew a 2.81 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 6.67 million overall viewers. The numbers top the 2.63 rating and 6.30 million viewer mark drawn by last week’s broadcast.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s “TWD,” which marked the penultimate eighth season episode, ranked as the night’s #1 show in adults 18-49. It was cable’s most-watched original for the day.<\/p>\n

The season finale airs next week.<\/p>\n

— Sunday’s “TWD” led into “Talking Dead,” which managed a 1.01 in the demo and 2.53 million in viewership.
