“Spoiler Alert: Shocking #AmericanIdol news tonight,” wrote the “Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance” producer.<\/p>\n
Worth noting is the fact that Lythgoe did not specify the “shocking news” was related to the “elimination.” Such teases, in general, also have a mixed history of referring to something the fans would agree is of significance.<\/p>\n
The counter perspective is that “spoiler alert” would not have applied if the news did not, in some way, concern the results.<\/p>\n
“American Idol” announces the results of the Top 11 Performance Show Thursday night. As only ten contestants typically go on the “Idol” tour, those who survive this cut–assuming a save is not instituted–will all go on the road this summer.
