Last week, Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” officially entered the Top 3 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.<\/p>\n

This week, it may challenge for #1.<\/p>\n

Lipa’s US breakthrough received 10,437 spins during the first four days of the January 21-27 tracking period.<\/p>\n

The count, which tops last week’s mark by 5.6%, brings “New Rules” within 130 spins of Ed Sheeran’s reigning #1 “Perfect.”<\/p>\n

“Perfect” received 10,567 spins during the aforementioned four-day window.<\/p>\n

“New Rules,” moreover, has the momentum on its side. While its spin count is up 5.6% from last week’s mark, “Perfect” is down by 2.1%.<\/p>\n

If they remain on those trajectories, “New Rules” would move narrowly ahead of “Perfect” by the close of tracking.<\/p>\n

Even if “Perfect” holds onto #1 this week, “New Rules” should definitely reach #1 by next week.
