NBC’s “24”-like “The Event” fell far short of ratings expectations for the inaugural part of its fall season, but the Peacock is not getting out of the high-concept serialized-drama business.<\/p>\n

“REM,” which received a pilot order recently, brings “24” showrunner Howard Gordon back into the television drama fold. And the thriller, billed as carrying similarities to Oscar-nominated film “Inception,” has now cast its lead.<\/p>\n

Jason Isaacs, who had been identified as one of the most in-demand actors this pilot season<\/a>, has been booked to star as a cop who must deal with parallel realities after a car accident.<\/p>\n
