The suboptimal timing, in all likelihood, will not prevent it from setting a myriad of revenue records. It certainly did not prevent intrigue from developing over the outcome.
That outcome came after a complete 12 rounds of fighting. And it came in favor of Floyd Mayweather.
The judges scored the fight 118-110, 116-112 and 116-112 in favor of Mayweather.
Mayweather’s victory came as many would have expected. He proved too elusive for Pacquiao, whose predictable, plodding, approach prevented him from connecting with the necessary degree of offense.
Working from counter on many occasions, Mayweather nonetheless landed significantly more punches than his opponent.
