Ratings: FX’s “The Americans” Slips; Viewership Back Below 1 Million

A second consecutive decline brings viewership for FX’s “The Americans” back beneath the 1 million mark.

Wednesday’s episode, which was the ninth of the acclaimed series’ third season, drew a 0.27 adults 18-49 rating with 988,000 viewers.

Both numbers trail those of the previous installment, which scored a 0.31 adults 18-49 rating with 1.125 million total audience members.

Visible–particularly in the viewership column–the week-over-week decline was not enough to send “The Americans” back the series low levels of the February 25 episode. That broadcast drew a 0.19 adults 18-49 rating with 811,000 viewers.

The decline did, however, create an unfavorable comparison between this week’s episode and the corresponding season two broadcast. That installment, which aired on April 23, 2014, drew a considerably stronger audience of 1.366 million.
