Backstage Look: Olivia Returns to FOX’s “Empire” in “Sins of the Father”

That FOX’s “Empire” progresses exceedingly quickly does not mean it ignores past developments. At least one such development will come into play this week.

“Sins of the Father,” Wednesday’s episode, will feature the return of Raven-Symoné’s Olivia. Her last visit to the “Empire” universe ended when she ditched her daughter, whom was allegedly fathered by Jamal (Jussie Smollett), at Empire headquarters.

Wednesday’s episode will also feature the aftermath of Andre’s (Trai Byers) breakdown. Not one to remain out of action, Andre begins to form a relationship with new character Michelle (Jennifer Hudson).

Typically stacked with development, “Sins of the Father” will also feature the debut of Mary J. Blige’s Angie and the latest instance of Camilla (Naomi Campbell) working to influence Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray). FOX’s full synopsis follows:

Andre forms a new musical relationship with Michelle (guest star Jennifer Hudson), and a woman from Lucious’ past, Angie (guest star Mary J Blige), comes into the picture. Meanwhile, Lucious invites the whole family over to his home. However, everyone arrives with their own agendas. Hakeem, under the influence of Camilla (guest star Naomi Campbell), sets out to show his father that he’s a true artist and a good businessman. Then, Cookie prepares to state her own agenda for Empire and for her family, when Olivia (guest star Raven-Symoné) arrives in the all-new “Sins Of The Father” episode of EMPIRE.
