“Krypton” Will Return For Season 2, Syfy Confirms

The network orders a second season ahead of the first season finale.

The first season finale of Syfy’s “Krypton” airs this Wednesday, May 23.

That “season” distinction is important; the cable network just ordered a second season of the Superman prequel.

While it became clear after a few episodes that “Krypton” would not be a blockbuster ratings performer, it still delivered solid marks for the network. First season episodes are reaching an average of 1.8 million viewers on a live+3 basis, notes Syfy.

Neither a production nor premiere date has been set for the second season, but Syfy expects the show to return in 2019.
