Music Superstars To Recreate “Elvis ’68 Comeback Special” In New NBC Broadcast

NBC will air “The 50th Anniversary Of The Elvis Comeback Special.”

On December 3, 1968, NBC aired a special entitled “Singer Presents…ELVIS.” The iconic special, which marked Elvis Presley’s return to the music lineup, has come to be known as the “’68 Comeback Special.”

In 2019, NBC will celebrate that historic event with the two-hour “The 50th Anniversary of the Elvis Comeback Special.”

The special will feature performances by various music superstars who will be announced at a later date.

Per the official announcement, those stars will “will pay tribute to Elvis, recreating the spectacle – even the staging – of that legendary night.”

Along with the performances, the special will feature rare Elvis footage, outtakes and discussions with those involved in the original special.
