While it has not been a breakout live+same-day performer, “Siren” has attracted respectable overall interest for Freeform. It has fared particularly well with young female viewers.

The drama also has clear support from network brass.

It should thus come as no surprise that the show will be returning for season two.

Freeform made the announcement has part of its annual upfront presentation. Season one is still underway, with the finale set for May 24.

— In addition to ordering a second season of “Siren,” Freeform ordered inaugural chapters of “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” and “Besties.”
