Update: As of press time at 11:45PM ET Thursday night, Nicki Minaj occupies the top two spots on the US iTunes sales chart.

Her “Chun-Li” is currently #1 on the US iTunes sales chart, while fellow new release “Barbie Tingz” is #2.

It is worth noting that the clean version of “Barbie Tingz” is prominently charting at #9, while the clean cut of “Chun-Li” is #96. If one were to add the versions together, “Barbie Tingz” would actually be slightly ahead.

The takeaway is simple: Nicki Minaj’s new songs are both having a strong opening day.

Thursday afternoon, Nicki Minaj released two new songs.

By Thursday evening, one of the two songs had hit #1 on the US iTunes sales chart.

Minaj’s “Chun-Li” occupies the pinnacle position as of press time at 6:30PM ET. “Barbie Tingz,” Minaj’s other new song, is currently #4 on the listing.

The two Minaj songs share the Top 5 with Drake’s “Nice For What” (#2), Carrie Underwood’s “Cry Pretty” (#3), and Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin’s “I Like It” (#5).

“Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz” will surely amplify anticipation — and excitement — for Minaj’s next studio album.
