“Hope World” sold an impressive amount of copies on Thursday.

While it officially carries a March 2 release date, J-Hope’s “Hope World” technically debuted in the United States on March 1.

The BTS member’s mixtape sold an impressive number of copies on that abbreviated first day. Enough copies, in fact, to rank as one of the twenty best-selling albums for the entire week between February 23 and March 1.

According to Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle, “Hope World” sold approximately 8,630 pure US copies during the February 23-March 1 tracking period. It takes #11 on Hits’ pure sales chart for the week.

The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) yields a tracking period consumption tally of about 12,070. It earns #41 on the Hits Top 50 consumption chart.

Because Billboard data can differ from that reported by Hits, there is no guarantee “Hope World” will earn the same positions on this week’s Billboard Top Album Sales (pure sales) and Billboard 200 charts (consumption).

It is quite clear, however, that there was substantial US interest in the release.
