Based on its early-week performance, Alice Merton’s “No Roots” has a strong chance of reaching #1 on this week’s Mediabase alternative airplay chart.

“No Roots” received 1,337 spins during the first three days of the February 11-17 tracking period. Up 3.0% from the mark at this point last week, the tally slots “No Roots” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Granted, it only holds a 3-spin lead over Walk The Moon’s “One Foot.” Given that small differential, it is far too early to guarantee a #1 bow for “No Roots.”

The picture does look promising, however. Whereas “No Roots” is up 3.0% from last week’s count, “One Foot” is down 3.1%. If they continue on those contrasting trajectories, “No Roots” will expand its lead as the chart goes final.

This week’s alternative radio chart will be issued on Sunday.

A multi-format hit, “No Roots” has already reached #1 on the Triple A chart. It is also nearing the Top 15 at hot adult contemporary and Top 40 at pop.
