2018 American Music Awards Ceremony Set For Tuesday, October 9

This year’s AMAs ceremony will air on a Tuesday night.

After several years of airing on Sundays in November, the American Music Awards broadcast will move to a new night and a new month in 2018.

ABC confirms that the 2018 ceremony will take place on Tuesday, October 9.

It will air live from 8-11PM EDT.

Further details – including nominees, presenters and performers – will be revealed much closer to the broadcast date.

The 2017 American Music Awards show notably posted a 10% year-over-year increase in overall live+same-day viewership. It held steady in the key adults 18-49 demographic.

dick clark productions will continue to produce the ceremony, which relies on commercial data to determine the nominees — and fan voting for the winners.
