FOX’s “Lucifer” Returns With New Episode Monday; What To Expect In “All About Her”

It’s all about her in the Monday, January 22 edition of “Lucifer.”

Lucifer | FOX

While it was technically billed as the midseason premiere, the January 1 “Lucifer” episode was a flashback episode — with no direct ramifications for the ongoing narrative.

Entitled “All About Her,” the January 22 episode picks up that narrative.

It addresses the key developments from the fall finale, including the particularly notable reveal: Lieutenant Marcus Pierce is actually Cain, of Biblical fame.

The episode airs on FOX at 8PM ET Monday night, but Headline Planet had the opportunity to screen the episode in advance.

We cannot share major spoilers, but we can reveal some elements you can expect in the “All About Her” episode:

Pierce Questions Answered
The episode is, predictably, rich with expository details about Pierce/Cain.

By the end of the episode, viewers will know why he came into town, what role he played in Lucifer’s kidnapping (and subsequent wing revival), and how he will factor into the narrative moving forward.

Pierce-Ella Fallout
While Lucifer deals with the discovery of Pierce’s true identity, Ella navigates a different issue involving the lieutenant.

In the fall finale, Pierce publicly snapped at the bubbly, talkative forensic scientist.

The situation was a particularly hurtful one for Ella. She reveres Pierce as a charming, model officer — and believes her upbeat nature is appreciated at the precinct.

The incident seemingly dealt a blow to both realities. Monday, she deals with that fallout.

Chloe-Lucifer Rift
Chloe remains upset about Lucifer’s self-involved, reckless behavior in the fall finale.

In the early portion of the episode, Lucifer makes matters worse. Instead of showing remorse for his actions (or even just cognizance of her feelings), he expects her to drop everything and assist with his own “case” (related to Pierce/Cain).

Chloe refuses, prompting Lucifer to contemplate ways to win back her trust.

After consulting Linda and Dan for help, Lucifer makes overtures to show his appreciation for Chloe. Unfortunately, the very Lucifer-esque efforts generally do not go as smoothly as expected.

Maze/Amenadiel/Linda Triangle
In the fall finale, Maze asked Linda not to date Amenadiel — just as we, the viewers, saw their romantic relationship coming to fruition.

Given Maze’s particular set of skills, will Linda and Amenadiel truly be able to maintain a secret relationship?

More importantly, should they?

As Linda wrestles with the complexities of the situation, Amenadiel faces a personal health matter. One that is actually quite related to his romantic escapades.

Case Of The Week: Surfer Murdered, Dan Goes Undercover
A promising surfing star is found murdered on the beach.

The case has special significance for Dan, who has recently gotten back into surfing.

Given his familiarity and experience, he is also the perfect candidate to go undercover to investigate potential suspects.
