Ratings: AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Rises Slightly For Midseason Finale

“The Walking Dead” was up – but not significantly – for Sunday’s midseason finale.

Sunday’s midseason finale of “The Walking Dead” predictably topped the previous episode in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

The gains were not, however, particularly significant.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “TWD” drew a 3.36 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 7.89 million overall viewers.

Last week’s episode drew a 3.28 in the demo and 7.47 million viewers. It was the least-watched episode since late season two.

While this week’s midseason finale topped last week’s broadcast, its performance was actually below the current season eight average (even if the premiere is excluded). The adults 18-49 rating was the second-lowest of the season, while the viewership figure was the third-lowest (ahead of last week’s episode and the November 19 broadcast).

Despite the soft performance in comparison to the show’s historical standard, Sunday’s “The Walking Dead” still convincingly ranked as Sunday’s top cable original in adults 18-49 and viewership. It will convincingly rank as the week’s top scripted show in adults 18-49.

“TWD,” which concluded with the (***SPOILER ALERT***) revelation that Carl had been bitten, led into “Talking Dead.”

The post-game show drew a 1.35 rating and 3.36 million overall viewers.
