“MIC Drop” is the highest-charting Hot 100 entry for a K-pop act.

Earlier this year, BTS’ “DNA” reached #67 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In doing so, it became the highest-charting hit ever achieved by a K-pop group.

This week, BTS comfortably breaks its own record.

The group’s “MIC Drop (featuring Desiigner) [Aoki Remix]” debuts at #28 following the release of the remix with those artists.

Billboard’s Hot 100 ranks songs based on combined activity from sales, streams and radio airplay. “MIC Drop” generated a considerable amount of first-week sales interest (enough, in fact, for #4 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart). It also attracted ample enthusiasm on the streaming front, while scoring early support at pop and rhythmic radio.
