Katy Perry’s “Chained To The Rhythm,” “Last Friday Night” Certified Platinum In UK

A song by Ed Sheeran and a high-profile “Suicide Squad” collaboration also picked up platinum awards.

Katy Perry received two new platinum certifications in the United Kingdom this week.

According to the BPI, Perry’s “Chained To The Rhythm (featuring Skip Marley)” and “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” both crossed the platinum threshold this week.

A platinum certification signifies 600,000 in UK units.

“Chained To The Rhythm” peaked at #5 on the Official UK Singles chart; “Last Friday Night” went as high as #9.

— Ed Sheeran’s “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” and Lil Wayne/Wiz Khalifa/Imagine Dragons’ “Sucker For Pain (with Logic & Ty Dolla $ign, featuring X Ambassadors)” also went platinum in the UK this week.
