Ratings: “The Walking Dead” Posts Weakest Numbers Since Season Two

“The Walking Dead” took a big hit on an admittedly competitive night.

While it remains a massive hit, “The Walking Dead” is clearly showing signs of fatigue.

That cool down, combined with heavy competition from Sunday Night Football and the World Series, led to a big ratings drop this Sunday.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “TWD” drew a 3.99 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 8.92 million overall viewers.

The numbers trail the 5.03 rating and 11.44 million viewer mark drawn by last week’s season premiere.

They, moreover, rank as the show’s worst live+same-day numbers since season two.

Despite those negative distinctions, “TWD” still dominated the Sunday cable ratings race. It more than doubled its closest competition in adults 18-49 and viewers.

— “TWD” led into “Talking Dead,” which posted a 1.4 in the demo and 3.25 million in overall viewership.
