“Young Sheldon” Has Already Been Picked Up For Full Season

CBS needed only one episode to commit to “Young Sheldon.”

Young Sheldon / CBS

CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” prequel “Young Sheldon” premiered this past Monday.

It delivered very strong ratings. Updated data has the show drawing a 3.8 adults 18-49 rating and 17.21 million total viewers on a live+same-day basis.

The ratings were so strong, in fact, that CBS has already ordered a full season’s worth of episodes.

CBS announced the news Wednesday.

“Young Sheldon” obviously benefited from airing directly out of “The Big Bang Theory,” but that partnership will be its reality moving forward. “Young Sheldon” will continue to air out of the flagship CBS comedy when it resumes its season on Thursday, November 2.
