MTV’s revived “Unplugged” was not a live+same-day ratings winner.

MTV’s announcement that it was reviving the “MTV Unplugged” franchise received applause from music fans.

The first episode did not, however, attract a large live+same-day television audience.

According to data posted by Showbuzz, the episode drew a paltry 0.09 adults 18-49 rating and averaged just 181,000 overall viewers.

It was not even one of Friday’s Top 100 cable originals in adults 18-49.

“Unplugged” returns this coming Friday. Bleachers is headlining with special guests Lorde and Carly Rae Jepsen.
