Bruno Mars’ “Chunky” Receiving Pop Radio Airplay In Dallas, Charlotte

Two pop stations are showing interest in Bruno Mars’ “Chunky.”

As Bruno Mars’ “Versace On The Floor” fades at radio, fans are beginning to speculate about the follow-up single.

Neither Atlantic nor Bruno Mars has revealed which “24K Magic” song will serve as the new radio single, but two pop stations have shown where their interest lies.

According to Mediabase, Dallas’ 106.1 KISS FM and Charlotte’s Channel 96.1 have both begun playing “Chunky.”

The Dallas station played “Chunky” a whopping 30 times during the period between August 29-September 4. Channel 96.1 offered 3 plays within that window.

The new single — be it “Chunky” or something else from “24K Magic” — will presumably be announced soon.

Released as the follow-up to the multi-format #1 hit “That’s What I Like,” Mars’ “Versace On The Floor” underperformed at radio. It won support from some critics, but the combination of poor listener callout scores and underwhelming sales and streaming numbers (by Mars standards, at least) caused it to stall outside pop radio’s Top 15.

It also hit walls at rhythmic (outside the Top 10) and hot adult contemporary radio (outside the Top 15).
