The Weeknd’s “Starboy” Album Reaches 2x Platinum In US; 5 Million In Global Units

In a press alert for The Weeknd’s “Secrets” music video, Republic trumpets the success of the album on which it appears.

According to the note, the album recently earned a double-platinum certification in the United States. The certification confirms at least 2 million in US units.

Under the terms of the RIAA’s album program, each unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

Republic meanwhile notes that the album has crossed 5 million in global units.

“Starboy” has spawned hit singles in the title track, “I Feel It Coming,” and “Party Monster.” “Reminder” is currently climbing the rhythmic airplay chart.
